SaraswatiShikshanPrasarak Mandal’s SharadraoPawar Arts & Commerce College Gadchandur was set up in 1993 to ease higher education for students of tribal regions in Korpana Taluka. Established with the college’s inception in 1993, the Department of English has distinguished itself in various spheres of English studies, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, etc. The Department of English has played a vital role in the all-round development of all students. At present, Dr. SunilS. Bidwaik is the Head of the Department. The faculty of the department is actively involved in the Board of Studies of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli.

The department offers courses in the subject of compulsory English for all graduate students enrolled in B. A. The department planned to develop literary qualities in all students writing. Besides this, the department-initiatedCareer-Oriented Short-Term and Value-Added Courses such as - Short Term Course in Functional English, Communication Skills and Personality Development, and English Grammar for Competitive Examinations for all undergraduate students every academic year. The Department of English has been preserving the glorious tradition of English pedagogy since the beginning. The Department of English runs English Literary Association in the college and encourages all students to author poems, write-ups, and several pieces of prose. English Department has two faculty members including the head and one CHB.
